Site Upgrade

With Nova 2 out and going stable at v2.0.2, I've decided to upgrade us to it - much of the functionality of how to actually use the site is the same, but there are also a few decent new features which have come into play that are quite nice to have, and the site has a bit more scope of what we can do with it.

I've spent the past week or so working on getting our three primary custom skins (darkfrontier, deepspace19 and endeavourblue) up to Nova 2 standards - whilst for the most part it's a very simple process with just the addition of a small bit of code for the added features, I've wanted to try and incorporate some of the new skinning styles that you'll see in Nova 2 - things like the new way they deal with gradients in the styles will be present in both of the latter two skins.

All three of the skins also include my long-awaited fix to our crew console sidebar thing that shows your character's picture - it now works regardless of the site's root domain (since it's no longer hard-coded in to the Endeavour's site) and it will also work now for users who don't have just one picture; it will extract the first only for those with multiple pictures of themselves (you vain, vain people! :P)


Now, in order to perform this upgrade, I'm going to have to take the site down for just a short period; only a few minutes I hope, but it depends on how long it takes the new files to upload to the server. The site will be inaccessible whilst I perform the upgrade, so please bear with me, and I'll send out another news item when it's all done.
