Now Seeking Director of Fleet Recruitment!
Posted on Sun May 8th, 2011 @ 9:47pm by Captain Benjamin Byrne
Have you always been fascinated by the engineering greats? By Zefram Cochrane, by Montgomery Scott, the fantastic teams at Utopia Planetia? Always been keen to delve into the reasons why things work the way they do, and what the most reasonably expected technical specifications of various ships are? If so, you may be the perfect candidate for the vacant post of Director of Research & Development!
The Director of R&D is one of the crucial roles of the fleet administration. The technical know-how of the holder is very important in determining whether things are possible in-character when discussing with COs, in whether or not to approve or modify new ship specifications, and in continuing the Refit Project started by Admiral Locke. Forming a key cog in an important machine, this is a position we need you to fill.
The Director of Research & Development has many responsibilities, amongst which are;
- Maintaining the fleet's Specifications Database on IFS
- Organising the creation, factual accuracy and maintenance of Wiki-based technology articles
- Reviewing, maintaining, updating and in some cases creating deck listings and specifications for starship and starbase classes based on accurate research
- Answering queries and requests from fleet members regarding technology within the fleet
- Proposing additional starship or starbase classes to be adding to the fleet for the review of fleet membership and a vote by the Pegasus Fleet Admiralty and, if approved, implementing new class based on accurate research
- Being an active, participating member of the Pegasus Fleet Admiralty, taking an active role in the growth and direction of the fleet
- Submitting monthly reports to both the Pegasus Fleet Admiralty and the Commanding Officers of the fleet
- Attending the monthly CO and Staff meeting, except where arrangements have been made otherwise with the PFCO
One does not need to be a commanding officer in the fleet to be eligible for the position, though in order to be eligible you will need to have and maintain an active character on any sim within the fleet. In order to be considered for the position, you should request an application from Admiral Sanchez at pfco[at]pegasusfleet[dot]net by May 15th, 2011, and submit it back to him no later than May 18th.
Good luck to all who apply!
