Now Seeking Commandant of the Fleet Academy!
Posted on Sun May 8th, 2011 @ 10:01pm by Captain Benjamin Byrne
Has teaching always been a passion of yours? Want to help those among us new to simming to reach the literary heights that we all dream of? Well, you're in luck, because the Pegasus Fleet Admiralty is in need of a new Commandant of the PF Academy!
The Academy Commandant is an important position within the fleet's administrative body; responsible for the creation and maintenance of courses pertaining to all walks within the fleet - whilst Commanding Officers and Cadets (more inexperienced, general simmers) are the Academy's core focus, there have also been plans to expand it with workshops for a variety of subjects; an expansion that you can be at the very centre of.
The Academy Commandant however has a number of responsibilities, amongst which are;
- Assigning Students to Instructors
- Teaching students in the core courses, and any additional courses the Commandant opts to instruct on personally
- Recruiting, accepting and training new members of the Academy Staff
- Mediating grading disputes
- Being an active, participating member of the Pegasus Fleet Admiralty, taking an active role in the growth and direction of the fleet
- Submitting monthly reports to both the Pegasus Fleet Admiralty and the Commanding Officers of the fleet
- Attending the monthly CO and Staff meeting, except where arrangements have been made otherwise with the PFCO
One does not need to be a commanding officer in the fleet to be eligible for the position, though in order to be eligible you will need to have and maintain an active character on any sim within the fleet. In order to be considered for the position, you should request an application from Admiral Sanchez at pfco[at]pegasusfleet[dot]net by May 15th, 2011, and submit it back to him no later than May 18th.
Good luck to all who apply!
