Tour - Observation Lounge

« Back to Tour Items

Summary

The observation lounge or conference lounge is a special designation referring to the briefing room on Galaxy and Sovereign-class starships. The room is used as a meeting place for the ship's senior staff as well as special events and gatherings. Some go to the observation lounge simply for the view.

The room is elongated and spans the entire area aft of the bridge on Deck 1. There are a series of seven viewports, composed of transparent aluminum spanning from close to the floor to up along the angled ceiling, which face the rear of the ship.

Additional Information

Location Deck 1
Description The Sovereign class observation lounge is connected directly to the bridge via two doors on either side of the master systems display. The shape of the conference table matches the curvature of the exterior hull, and has seating and data pads for ten individuals. Steps inside the lounge lead down to the table level. Two display screens are located at either side of the room, behind the table and adjacent to the doors, and beside which sit two replicators.

Along the bulkhead shared with the Master Systems Display on the bridge is a holographic projection, which features full golden models of the history of ships named Endeavour; the sailing ship, the shuttle craft, the Constitution-refit class and the Nebula class, along with the current ship, the Sovereign class. During mission briefings, this holographic image is dismissed, and replaced with a large computer terminal - the room's primary imaging system for giving mission presentations.
