Narration: Station Exterior View

Posted on Sat Jun 16th, 2012 @ 4:30pm by Captain Benjamin Byrne

Mission: Divisions
Location: Deep Space 19
Timeline: Immediately After "Daily Droll"

As the USS Endeavour and Antarctic continued to drift lazily in their orbit of the alien space station, and the smaller, arrow-head shaped ships of the Tholians hovered near their enclave's dedicated airlock, various pinpoints of orange light began to appear at points situated all along the station's superstructure.

As the first built up to a critical level, a brilliant beam of orange-white energy lashed out, carving through the darkness of space in a curved arc as the emitter failed to compensate for the force of the outgoing beam of energy. Just as quickly as the beam appeared, it vanished, with a second beam of light emanating from a point on the ventral side of the station.

As the third and then the fourth points of lights each began to burst with the thermonuclear energy, one of the beams sliced through the aft portion of one of the small Tholian vessels, causing a power overload and the ship to explode immediately, with no time for transporters to lock on to retrieve survivors. The other Tholian ships; more nimble than their Federation counterparts, and with their engines constantly running hot ever since they arrived in the system began to scatter, doing their best to avoid the lashings of energy being directed at the space around the station at random.

As the impulse drives of the Federation starships began to reach operational levels, the frequency of the beams of light steadily increased, narrowly missing the much larger vessels by mere meters from the outer periphery of their raised shields.
