Mind Numbing Protocol

Mission:
Kingdom Come
Location: Chief Engineers Office- USS Endeavour
Not being the best fan of protocol Liz avoided her log entries as long as she could. The remaining engineering staff had accomplished miracles getting the Endeavour back to warp speed. They had also spent most of the time during the trip back to starbase repairing the much-needed medical facilities. Now she took a few moments to record her log.
"Engineering log; condensed recording Elizabeth Jones, Chief Engineer." She paused for a few moments to collect her thoughts before continuing "To say the Endeavour's engineering spaces where infested would be an understatement. When we first began the task of following the captain's orders it seemed insurmountable. All of the EPS main lines had been replaced by a bioorganic alternative; presumably how the bugs fed off the ships power systems, and without suitable replace parts available or options were limited. "
"Further testing of the organic conduits showed promise, causing an increase in efficiency in the M/A transfer rate of 15%. I then made the judgment call to use the organic conduits for our needs." Liz paused for a moment realizing that she was pacing around her office.
"Medical repairs were concurrent of the engine repairs, once the primary staff had restored engine operation we moved to complete the medical work restoring the surgical suits and medical bays to 100% operation. This was done before we arrived at starbase."
The Queen's husk had been removed from the engine room and Liz looked out for the first time at her new home. "On a personal note, since we have arrived at base the crews have been very efficient with astatic repairs. We have a laundry list of items still needing to be complete, eta for departure 2 weeks time. Assuming the Captain would like all systems up to 100 percent functionality before we leave dock. End of Log"
Liz felt happy that would at least stem the complaints for log entries for a little while and preceded the work of prioritizing non-essential systems. She was in the middle of doing this when the minds of the Endeavour came flooding back to her at once. The captain had just promoted someone, a few crewmembers where in the process of making love, and all the other thoughts that were on a less intense level blending together into one voice sounding a lot like the borg collective.
Putting her head down between her legs she waiting for the moment to pass, hoping to still have a brain by the time it was finished.
