Mission: Klingons on the Starboard Bow
Location: Commander Ra-Xialli's Quarters
Timeline: After 'New Line Officer'

Gaius had only just reached his quarters from coming on board. He had met with the CO and with that simple meeting he had a new home. He took a moment to have a look around his new executive officer's living area. It had a small eating area and standard size desk, with a larger screen on the wall behind. A replicator, which was on the wall that divided the main area with the sleeping area and ensuite. Gaius noticed some odd looking marks on the wall, scratches. Probably from the previous tennants he thought and shrugged it off.

"Computer, set temperature to 14 degrees celcius and decrease lighting by 15 percent. Keep this as standard preference," Gaius ordered, not stopping between sentences, "Replicate glass of Tokoth Meade, origin, Efros Delta. Replicate items 1 to 7 of my personal database in order." He continued, standing infront of the Replicator. The computer chimed in acceptance of the order.

He removed the glass of Meade from the alcove, and took a hefty swig. Letting out a satisfied breath he looked to the contents. The dark orange liquid, was in many cases similiar to earth beer, but made of an apple like fruit native to his home planet. It was bittersweet, and refreshing at the right temperature. It was Gaius' favourite since he was old enough to have it. He placed it down on his desk as the other items replicated.

The first two were pictures, one of him and his son, and the other of his family, the last time they were all together. Another item was the model of the USS Idle, a prototype ship that his academy buddy and he designed. A rather sturdy looking runabout sporting design cues from the Chafee-type shuttle and the Delta Flyer, but also looks from the Gryphon type runabout aswell. The last three items were that of weapons, an Andorian Ushaan-tor ice pic, a gladius iberius sword, and a traditional Efrosian sword, complete with his families markings.

He stood satisfied in his quarters, them now feeling less sparse and more like home, the chill in the air was comforting. He mused at his predicament, he was getting older, he needed his comforts. He shook the thought, and decided to don his training fatigues and get some excercise started, a pint of meade not withstanding. As he was almost out of the door, his console lit up and displayed an incoming communication.

"Answer," he said, interupting the computer notifying him.

The image on screen was that of Tevel, the mother of his child, Jarvis. From what he could see it was a warm day on Vulcan and it was almost sunset.

"Tevel, a suprise," Gaius said truthfully, but not showing the emotion that he was feeling. The thought of seeing his son, even for a short time. And he could not deny he did have feelings for Tevel aswell, but he would not display them.

"Indeed," The Vulcan woman replied, "Congratulations about your promotion Gaius," she said, "I hope you are well."

"Thank you and yes I am, and you?" Gaius said, he was confused at her small talk, which made him think something else was in the works.

"Well, thank you. The reason I call is about Jarvis," She said, getting to the heart of the matter.

"Is he ok?" Gaius asked, taking a seat. He perhaps sounded more desperate than he had intended, but it was his son.

"Indeed he is," she paused, "It is just that he has expressed a growing need to see you in person."

"Oh, I see," Gaius replied, secretly delighted his son wanted anything to do with him. He allowed himself a small smile.

"Are your current arrangements suitable to allow a child onboard?" Tevel asked.

Gaius pondered for a moment, and could not with his logical mind, think of any reason why his son would not do well on the Endeavour.

"It is, and tell him I look forward to having him here. You will have to hurry though, I believe the ship departs in the next 2 days. I can ask the Captain to delay our mission." Gaius said, thinking they would have to travel at at warp 8.5 to reach them on time.

"Please do so, We will leave immediately," Tevel said, then closed the comm channel before Gaius could ask to see Jarvis. His shoulders dropped, then raised again, his son was coming to live with him. His instincts conflicted with his feelings right now. Efrosian men dont make good fathers. I will, he thought to himself. He left his quarters to see the Captain.
