"They say time flies when you're having fun and once again I have to agree. The Tholians have caused a lot of extra work and they have certainly hindered the progress on the station, but I have to admit I actually like having them around. I loved following the negotiations, either directly or indirectly. The Tholians are skilled and aggressive negotiators and every word said to them had to be carefully chosen. I know it was frustrating sometimes to the people working with them, but it seemed like an awesome challenge as well."
"Another thing I like about them is that they seem so 'alien'. I mean, I've seen a number of different species on Earth and during my travels, but you'll never see a Tholian walking on the streets of Paris. They look different from us, live in an environment that would kill us and yet we do talk to them and live with them on this ancient space station, from which we still don't know who made it. Both the station and the Tholians still intrigue me. For both I'm wondering; who are they? What do and did they think and what happened that they got here?"
"When I told Eva about this in my last letter, she again suggested that I should try to apply to the academy. 'You're a smart girl and you love this diplomacy stuff, they'd be happy to have you'. Yeah, I don't know. I know I could probably do it, but then I'd have to go back to Earth and get back into the classrooms again. I'm afraid it'll be so boring, after what I've been through here. I mean, I'd be reading about the treaties again, the very ones they have been making, while I was right here. That just sounds so strange."
"I'll tell Eva that I'm just not interested at the moment. Maybe later, when being a Yeoman starts to become boring. I don't see myself doing this forever, but for now I'm still having too much fun to give it up. Beside, the academy has been there for a while now, I'm sure they won't close their doors anytime soon, so it will always stay an option."
