A Test of Civility

Mission:
Metronian Diplomacy
Location: Planet's Surface
Timeline: MD22 1425
Benjamin and Sanchez (NPC) suddenly found themselves transposed from their place on the bridge of the Endeavour onto the planet's surface below. Instinctively, Ben wanted to move into a defensive stance, his senses telling him that the unexpected like this was not to be trusted as safe. His mind, however, knew that such an act would make the Metronians believe him to constantly focus on violence, and so with a glance to the Admiral, he made a conscious effort to remain at a neutral pose.
In front of the two officers, stood a Metronian, dressed in the same silver-coloured sparkling robe that Benjamin had seen in the database records of the species. His person seemed to positively glow with white light, though it wasn't so harsh as to force one to avert their eyes. Even so, Benjamin believed it to be a way of demonstrating physically the power the individual before them held, even if they did claim to be superior to all others, and ultimately peaceful.
"Greetings," Sanchez said, taking a step forward. "I am Vice Admiral-"
"We know you who are," the Metronian cut in calmly. "Walk with me." Turning, he started walking across the lawn on which they stood, not looking back to see if the two humans would follow. With a quick glance between them, they did.
It was only now that Benjamin started to take in the surroundings about them. There were no buildings he could see, and they were surrounded by immaculately kept green grass, which spread as far as the forrest of trees he could see almost surrounding them. Off in the distance to his left was an impressive mountain range, their snow-capped peaks perfectly visible on the clear day.
"Last we met," the Metronian said, leading the way. "You showed us humans were not as barbaric as most of the other species in this region. You showed promise of one day becoming... civilised."
Unsure how to respond, the Admiral eventually put forward; "The Federation has advanced significantly on our peaceful scientific and exploration fronts-" Again, he was cut off.
"We have brought you hear to test your progress," the Metronian said. He stopped, and turn to face Benjamin. "You are commander of the ship in which you came?"
"Yes, that's me." He decided to keep his answers short for now, as the Metronian had shown a tendency to cut the Admiral off so far.
"Good. You and your crew will take the test." Following this statement, the Metronian turned and continued walking.
Confused, the two Starfleet officers looked at each other puzzlingly for a few moments, before hurrying to catch the Metronian up. "Can I ask what this test involves?" Benjamin asked.
"You will soon find out," the Metronian replied. Less than a moment later, Benjamin had vanished, leaving the Metronian and the Admiral on their own.
