Metronian Greetings

Mission:
Metronian Diplomacy
Location: USS Endeavour - Bridge
Timeline: MD22 - 1349hrs
"Take us out of Warp," Benjamin ordered from his command chair, as he head the doors to the bridge swoosh open to admit the Admiral. As the stream of stars became once again static as they dropped out of warp at the conclusion of this journey, they were greeted by no ship, no planet - nothing but an empty starfield.
Meanwhile down in engineering the sudden cooling of the warp core after eighteen days of full power was showing the strain it had gone through and the Engineering crew were producing a very good impression of bees. Warrant Officer Tsenzori had managed to stay out of the limelight up until now but his duty roster had been reconstructed to rope him in on the diagnostics. Of course that left him monitoring the plasma vents.
The repairs he had carried out himself were holding up better than he'd hoped as the plasma was flushed out of the warp core and into the waste unit, however the stress was starting to rise, rerouting the plasma flow through a different vent he marked a note for diagnostics later. A few shouts shook him from staring at the screen as yet another fault occurred, something to do with the warp core itself. A few commands were entered into the system and he called up the real time diagnostics of the warp core. The plasma had backed up, not because of something he had done but because of something he hadn't done.
That'd be his neck if he didn't sort that out, "Relieve me, I have to take care of something." Another member of the Engineering crew stepped into his position as he took a tool kit. It wasn't that he wanted to get the job done, it wasn't that the task was crucial, this was one of his duties, his senior officer knew it and Kai wasn't stupid enough to stick around without the job being completed.
Back to the bridge and...
"Are you sure these are the right coordinates, Admiral?" Benjamin asked. The Metrons had apparently given very specific instructions on where to meet them and when, but so far all they had been greeted with was silence and empty space.
"Yes, these are the coordinates," Sanchez (NPC) responded smoothly and simply, moving to stand behind the empty chair to Ben's left and placing his hand on its headrest. "We're early. They'll be here soon."
"Very well," Ben said, clearly not too happy about just waiting. "Helm, hold position here. Sensors to maximum range. I want to know the moment anything approaches us."
"Aye sir." Dave said, punching in the coordinates for a hover position.
The crew waited for half an hour, with Benjamin having moved into his ready room at the turn of the hour, whilst Admiral Sanchez seemed content to take a seat next to the command chair and watch the viewscreen. Eventually however, the monotony was interrupted.
At first, Mark thought that it was merely a trick of the light or some sensor malfunction.
On the main viewscreen, the stars were slowly slipping past, indicating that the Endeavour was moving forward, even though there had been no order to begin movement. A brief glance at the readout on the arm of the center chair made it clear that this was not a malfunction in the sensors. "Bridge to Commander Byrne," Mark called, "We've begun to move forward, sir."
"Sir, the engines are off." Dave said, he hit the emergancy stop button, "The console is nonfunctional, I have no control."
"Bridge to engineering," Mark called through the ship's comm system, "Can you confirm that the engines offline?"
"Impulse engines and thrusters are offline." Kai returned over the intercom being the first officer to check the system. His senior officers were busy with something else apparently.
Looking over the readouts from the Tactical station, Lyon spoke up, "I can find nothing that should be affecting the ship sir and scans are showing that there is nothing in the area."
"Sensors don't detect anything affecting the ship. It's almost as if we are moving on our own." Nessa reported from her place at the science officer station, her eyes not even lifting from the readouts as her fingers continued to work the console, repeating the scans she had already ran, though apparently without any greater success. She shook her head and punched a few more buttons, her eyes still locked on the readout as she waited to spot any change.
"It's them," Sanchez said, as he stood up from the chair he had claimed.
As the unseen source pulled the ship deeper into Metronian space, it did so at an alarming speed, without effecting the structural integrity whatsoever. In a matter of minutes, they saw the approaching blue globe of a planet growing on the viewscreen, before it suddenly snapped to a view of a man dressed in silver, with the most serene expression a man could hope to achieve.
"You are the leaders," it stated, looking towards Benjamin and Sanchez with a tilted head. "Come down to the planet." As soon as he said the words, the viewscreen returned to its previous view, and the Commander and Admiral had simply... gone.
