Settling in...

Mission: Metronian Diplomacy
Location: Winters' Quarters
Timeline: MD09 - Evening

It had been several days since Lyon joined the [i]Endeavour[/i]'s crew. He had made friends with several crew members he had met in the 'Reef and life was looking good.

Lyon had finished his shift and got something to eat from the 'Reef. There had been surprisingly few in there tonight, so few he decided not to stay and chat as has been his habit over the last couple days. Heading back to his quarters, he decided to dedicate an hour or so 'relaxing' while finishing off some reports before composing a message to his sister.

After getting comfortable with a cup of tea, he began going through and signing off his work. He lost track of the time as he looked at the chronometer and it had him as working for almost two hours. [i]I didn't realise I had been busy for so long, I must write to 'Beth before I sleep,[/i] thought Lyon.

Looking out the window calmed him nicely. There was something about a starscape, particularly at warp that soothed him almost as much as a water 'scape would. Activating his terminal he began to compose a message;

[i]Hi Sis, it's your fave bro here. I meant to send this when I was sending Mum and Dad's. Forgive me? Not sure if you heard from our parents but I've been posted onboard a brand new ship as Second Officer. It is huge compared to the [/i]Thomas Paine[i] but she feels great to be on.

I have already made a few friends and before you ask, no I have not met 'anyone'. Not that I would tell you if had had *he says with a grin*. On a similar note, how has your life been recently? I haven't heard from you in almost two months. I know I haven't been the most verbose person and I'll be the first to admit that's no excuse. What's yours? *grinning again he yawns*

I think this is as far as I'm going to get tonight. I will wish you well and hope to see you soon. Give my love to Mum and Dad. Hope to see you soon.[/i]

Lyon finished off the message with another yawn and hit send before getting up and heading to bed after doing the rounds in the bathroom.
