Reflection

Posted on Fri Apr 2nd, 2010 @ 9:22pm by Lieutenant Lyon Winters

Mission: Metronian Diplomacy
Timeline: MD18

After two weeks aboard the Endeavour Lyon truly felt at home. He didn’t think it would be all that different from the Thomas Paine just on a grander scale but he couldn’t be more wrong.

While enroute to the coordinates given by the Metrons, Lyon got to know his department and station very well. During the first few shifts he utilised his bridge station to the fullest and studied the Endeavour’s characteristics, knowing every ship despite being of the same class all had their own peculiarities. Running through different scenarios he got to know how the ship would handle in the more common situations knowing he wouldn’t be able to plan for all eventualities.

Recalling several security drills he conducted within his department during the first week, he was impressed with the professional attitudes of his subordinates and the initiative they showed. Even earmarking one or two candidates for potential advancement pending their actions during the mission. He would do another drill before they arrived if everything continued to go well.

One thing Lyon truly enjoyed was the holodeck, as his previous ship did not have one and it was very few and far between when he got to use one. He’d only created one programme with which he could relax while at the same time keep up his practice with his instrument. This was his one indulgence, at least so far.
